about us

About us:
The Oberkassel adventure playground is an educationally supervised playground that has existed since 1972. Originally only intended as a summer holiday offer, the offer aroused so much enthusiasm among young and old that parents founded an association - the city made a site available: the adventure playground eV was created ...

Since then, many children - and parents - have attended the ASP. Several employees are available for supervision and support: three social pedagogues who share two full-time positions and three employees who only work in the afternoons.

FÖJler take care of the necessary maintenance of the site. The educational staff looks after the children in the various areas and is always the point of contact when it comes to realizing ideas or solving problems. The association members are involved in all matters relating to the site in cooperation with the team and youth welfare office on the basis of the common concept.

What we do:

On the approx. 10,000 square meter area of the ASP there are a thousand and one possibilities for children to play imaginatively and creatively, to discover, to realize their own ideas ...

In the construction area, for example, you can build your own shack, in the animal area you can look after animals, get to know their characteristics and, in this context, learn to take responsibility. There is always something interesting in the material distribution, be it tools, games or a conversation with children and carers.

The other offers on the site offer space to play and let off steam - sometimes unobserved! In special offers, we cater to the needs of children more intensively (pottery, ball games, in winter also cooking, handicrafts, etc.). The offers are generally open to any interested child.

The ASP's offer is designed for children aged 6-14. But also smaller ones are welcome accompanied by their parents, also as a member of the association and the mothers' groups.
